TÖMER test is a placement and certification test which evaluates your Turkish level as a foreign language skill. The aim of TÖMER (Turkish and Foreign Languages Research and Application Center) is teaching the Turkish language to foreigners.
Turkish Test consists of 5 main sections. It is a test which is evaluated by ‘Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing and Grammar’ skills of people who learn Turkish as a foreign language. A certificate is given to successful applicants according to their levels which is accredited in most universities and colleges in turkey and if the applicant of TÖMER passed the examination can directly start academic year.
The TÖMER exam consists of 6 levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2). The level required for entering a university is B2 or C1. It changes from a university to university. A person with C1 TÖMER certificate can understand long and complex texts and produce detailed abstracts. S/he can express himself fluently and quickly without having to search for too many words. The language can be used effectively in social and professional life or in education.
